Danielle and Dan's urban winter wedding at Salvage One was the event of the season. Located in the heart of Chicago, Salvage One doubles as an antique store by day and luxury event space by night. Because of its fluid inventory, no two weddings at Salvage One are the same. The vintage furniture, eclectic artwork, and shimmering chandeliers created a sophisticated atmosphere that was unlike anything I'd ever seen!
Despite it being winter in windy city, the weather was surprisingly pleasant and allowed us to take advantage of the beautiful downtown cityscape. I loved how they incorporated a subtle red and green color palette to reflect the holiday season without being too over-the-top. She included different shades of pink in her florals and stunning satin bridesmaid gowns in dark rose. The combination was elegant, timeless, and perfectly fitting for a winter wedding in Chicago.
Getting Ready Moments
Every detail of Dan and Danielle's day was chic and stylish from her diamond pearl earrings and off-the-shoulder wedding dress to Dan's custom suit lining. In the getting-ready room, each bridesmaid wore mismatched silk pajamas and sipped on champagne while the guys shared a beer on the balcony. Everyone was smiling ear-to-ear that morning in pure excitement for the events to come.
First Look
Dan and Danielle opted for a first look which allowed us to take a few portraits before the ceremony. His reaction was incredibly sweet as he saw Danielle as a bride for the first time. She looked absolutely gorgeous in her dress. It was so much fun capturing them strut around Chicago in their wedding attire.
Bridal Party
When I tell you that this was one of the most gorgeous bridal parties I have captured, I am not lying! The teddie coats added such a fun pop of texture and made the perfect winter wedding accessory. They all looked fabulous against the city background. Danielle's oversized bouquet really stole the show with its stunning pink peonies, roses, dahlias, and eucalyptus flowers.
Ceremony
The elegance of the day really shined through during the ceremony. Each guest was greeted with a glass of champagne as they entered the venue and a live pianist played softly in the background. Their officiant Kelsey (one of Danielle's best friends) had everyone laughing with her hilarious and incredibly well-spoken speech. She was such a rock throughout the entire day, not just the ceremony, helping everyone and radiating positive energy.
They included small nodes to their Jewish heritage through a traditional wedding chuppah and glass-breaking ceremony. In a unique twist of tradition, they exchanged their vows in private after the ceremony and indulged in appetizers and drinks together before the party.
Cocktail Hour & Reception
Cocktail hour was kicked off with a champagne tower and delicious appetizers. The guests were free to explore Salvage One where all of the vintage furniture and antiques were for sale! Danielle especially loved the brass elephants that were used at the entrance to the ceremony.
The speeches given were a wonderful tribute to the newlyweds and it was mentioned more than once how much Dan and Danielle compliment each other. I couldn't agree more! These two are definitely in love and it was so fun getting to celebrate them.
After dinner and drinks is when the real party started! Every guest, parent, and grandparent was out on the dance floor the rest of the night. It was such a fun and lively group to watch. They even did a traditional Jewish Hora dance where the bride and groom were lifted up and everyone danced around them in a circle.
Dan and Danielle's day at Salvage One was truly unforgettable. It was sophisticated, classy, and full of unique details that made their wedding stand out. I'm so grateful to have been a part of such a special day and wish them all the best as Mr. and Mrs.
