As a wedding photographer, I've had the privilege of capturing countless special moments between couples. But there's something truly magical and exciting about a surprise proposal - the look of shock and joy on the face of the person being proposed to is priceless. Recently, I had the honor of capturing a surprise proposal in downtown Chicago for some close friends of mine. It was so meaningful and happy, and a truly unforgettable experience.
The groom-to-be, Sean, had planned a romantic evening out on the water for him and his girlfriend, Jordan. He rented a private boat and they set out on the Chicago River, with the iconic city skyline as the backdrop. As they cruised along the river taking in the views, Sean got down on one knee and proposed to Jordan. Meanwhile, I hid discreetly on the pier snapping away! Jordan was in complete shock and had no idea I was there until Sean pointed me out. She said yes, and the two of them shared a beautiful moment, surrounded by the city they love.
After the proposal, Sean had one more surprise up his sleeve - he had arranged for their friends and family to be waiting for them at Tiny Tapp, a restaurant right on the water. As they arrived at the restaurant, the couple was greeted by cheers and applause from their loved ones, who had been in on the surprise all along. It was a truly special moment and one that they will undoubtedly treasure for the rest of their lives.
I am thrilled to announce that Jordan and Sean will be getting married this August at the Greencrest Manor, a French-style chateau located in Battle Creek, Michigan. Jordan has always dreamed of a French-inspired wedding and this venue is the perfect fit. The beautiful gardens, grand ballrooms, and charming French architecture will transport the couple and their guests straight to the heart of Europe. I am honored to be their photographer and cannot wait to capture the elegance and class of their special day!
