There is something so magical about a wedding in the desert. Epic sunsets, the beautiful natural landscape, and vacation-mode temperatures are just a few of the reasons I cannot get enough of the southwest. This dreamy micro-wedding in Scottsdale was pure desert perfection. Filled with modern luxe details at the stunning Andaz Resort and Bungalows this wedding was truly one for the books.
Steph and I went to college together and reconnected last year when I was visiting Arizona for a wedding. We did a fun couple's shoot where Nate quietly mentioned that he would be proposing soon! Of course, I headed back to Arizona just a few months later to capture their engagements and chat about all things wedding planning.
These two knew from the moment they met that they had found their person. They decided to not waste any time in taking that next step toward marriage and family. Both of them aligned in their life goals, values, and ambitions, it just felt right. They planned their date around my availability which ironically fell on their exact one-year anniversary. It was fate!
First Look & Vows
Steph made the most beautiful bride, wearing a deep-v satin wedding dress while Nate rocked a classic black tuxedo. Their theme was neutral, timeless, modern, and executed to absolute perfection. The couple opted to do a first look and exchange vows in private before the ceremony. It was such a sweet and intentional moment that really showcased the authenticity and connection between the two.
The Ceremony
The ceremony took place on the lawn of the resort facing the mountains and desert garden. Nate had flown his pastor and long-time friend in for the occasion who served as their officiant. The intimate guest list consisted of only parents, siblings, and Steph's closest friend and maid of honor. The ceremony was short and sweet, but incredibly meaningful to everyone in attendance.
Bride & Groom Portraits
Cocktail hour was filled with champagne, charcuterie, and fun stories of Steph and Nate. While everyone mingled and reminisced, we snuck away to take their bride and groom portraits and soak in all the golden hour bliss. The sunset really stole the show that night, sparkling through the palm trees and reflecting off the water.
The Reception
The reception was one of my favorite parts of the whole day. It consisted of an intimate dinner with their families and sharing memories of Steph and Nate. After dinner, they laughed and danced and celebrated the couple underneath the setting sun.
